Presentation Guidelines
Welcome to the NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CRITICAL MINERAL EXPLORATION 2026 organized by Department of Applied Geology IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. To ensure the smooth running of the Symposium we have put together the following guidelines for all presenters:
- Abstract Submission
All presenters must submit their abstract after completion of Registration process from the link provided within the specified deadline. Abstracts should be clear, concise, and be written within the specified word length requirements not more than 500 words alongwith tables and figures. Clearly state the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions of your research in the abstract. Based on scientific merit, arrangements can be made for oral and poster presentations which will be communicated further. - Presentation Format and Content
Presentations can be either oral or poster presentations, based on the selection made. Oral presentations will be conducted before a live audience which includes Q&A period. Poster presentations will be exhibited in designated area (to be specified on the day of symposium). Please note that the format of each presentation will vary according to the specifications made by the symposium committee. To ensure effectiveness, your presentation should align with the themes of the symposium (for more details visit website). Clearly state the objectives of your research, methodologies used, results obtained, and the significance of your findings. High-quality images, graphics are encouraged to enhance the understanding of your work. Avoid use of excessive technical jargon. - Language
The official language of the Symposium is English. All presentations-including slides and posters- must be prepared and delivered in English. - Oral Presentation Guidelines
Oral Session
All presenters are required to register either as the Presenting Author or as a Co-Author and must attend the symposium in person to present their work.
The oral sessions will be held as follows:
Presentation time is 12 minutes in total.
Allocation- 10 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for Q&A.
Presentation materials must be mailed in ppt, pptx or pdf format. Slide Aspect Ratio: 16:9. Required font style is Aerial and font size is not less than 18pt refer to the Template link. Presenters are required to arrive in the auditorium no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of their aligned session.
A technician will be available to assist you in uploading your presentation file in the system.
The Symposium will provide standard audio-visual equipment to the presenter. (e.g., laptop, projector, screen, microphone, laser pointer)
- Poster Guidelines
Poster Session
All presenters are required to register either as the Presenting Author or as a Co-Author and must attend the symposium in person to present their posters.
The poster sessions will be held as follows:
Posters should be well-structured, visually engaging, and easily readable from a reasonable distance. It is recommended that the font size be at least 18 pt to ensure clarity.
Presenters should be available during their scheduled poster sessions to discuss their work and respond to questions.
Poster Dimensions
The size of the poster board is 3ft width* 4ft height.
The poster must present the same content as the submitted abstract.
i.Place the title and author information clearly at the top of the poster to ensure proper identification.
ii. Use high-resolution images and diagrams of a sufficient size to be easily readable. - Session Chairs and Conveners
Each session will be overseen by a designated chair/convener who is responsible for introducing speakers, managing time, and moderating the Q&A sessions. - Professional Conduct
All presenters are expected to adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct and integrity during their presentations. You must adhere to the separate Code of Conduct prepared for this Symposium.
Presenters must respect the allocated presentation time and avoid exceeding their time limit, which can disrupt the symposium schedule. - Disclosure & Copyrights
All copyrights for submitted material(s) will be transferred to NCME 2026 Organizing Committee and presenters are fully responsible for ensuring accurate disclosure of information (e.g. difference of stated affiliations and sponsoring companies). If previously presented or published abstract or data are re used, the speaker must revise and update them accordingly, so that no copyright laws are violated. Material submitted may be used and published in program book if needed.
